Vy ("Vy", "we", "us") is a flight-journaling and social app for pilots, operated by Palm Projects Media LLC. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using Vy, you agree to this policy.
Information you give us. When you create an account we collect your email address and a password (stored only in encrypted/hashed form). As you build your profile and use the app, you may provide your name, username, bio, journey stage, flight hours, home and notable airports, aircraft, ratings and certificates, and a profile photo and cover photo.
Content you create. We store the content you add to Vy — your logged flights (such as route, dates, times, altitude, and notes), posts, photos, comments, likes, direct messages, connections, and who you follow.
Information collected automatically. We collect basic device and usage information needed to run the app, and — if you enable notifications — a push-notification token for your device.
We do not sell your personal information, and Vy does not show third-party ads.
With other users. Your profile and the content you post are visible to others according to the visibility settings you choose (for example public, followers-only, or private) and your messaging privacy settings.
With service providers. We use trusted providers to run Vy, who process data only on our behalf: Supabase (database, authentication, and file storage), Resend (sending account emails), Mapbox (maps), and Expo and Apple (delivering push notifications).
For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Vy, our users, or others.
We keep your information for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data and content from our live systems. Residual copies may remain in encrypted backups for a limited period before they are overwritten.
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of storage or transmission is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your data and to promptly address any issues.
Vy is not directed to children. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country) to use Vy. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us and we will remove it.
Vy is operated from the United States, and your information is processed and stored there. By using Vy you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above, and significant changes may be communicated in the app.
